Coyote Chinook
Coyote, called Talapus by the Chinook, is a trickster of the lower Columbia River peoples, the same comic and creative figure known across the Plateau. Some Chinook tales are told with either Blue Jay or Coyote in the leading role, and Coyote's stories explain landmarks and teach lessons through his blunders.
