Coyote Water-Spirit of Dogon
Not independently attested. Coyotes do not occur in Dogon country (Mali), and no Dogon water-spirit of the coyote is recorded in the substantial ethnographic literature on the Dogon. The genuine Dogon water-spirits are the Nommo, amphibious ancestral beings created by Amma; the coyote figure appears to be an invented conflation.
