Not independently attested. Coyotes are a North American animal absent from Laos, and no Lao tradition records a coyote trickster. The description's 'oceanic coyote' that commands tides is incoherent for landlocked Laos and reads as template prose; the aliases reveal the same figure generated for Canada, Madagascar and Kenya. Lao trickster stories belong to the hare and other native animals.
