Not independently attested as an animal-spirit of Mi'kmaq folklore. The crane does not appear among the documented Mi'kmaq spirit-beings, which include Glooscap, the marten Apistanewj, the bear Muin, the eagle and the wind-bird Wuchowsen. No Mi'kmaq crane spirit or crane story is recorded in the available sources.
