Crane Guardian of Lakota
No crane guardian spirit is attested in Lakota folklore. Lakota traditions honor Wakan Tanka, the Thunderbird (Wakinyan), and figures such as the owl spirit Hihaŋkaǧa, but cranes hold no recorded guardian role. Though cranes are good-luck omens among some peoples, a named Lakota crane guardian does not appear in the ethnographic record.
