Crow Coast Salish

animal-spirit · Canada · North America

In the Lushootseed tales of the southern Coast Salish, Crow is a clever, stubborn talker who gets the better of others by sheer will. In 'Crow and her Seagull Slaves' she lords it over the birds she has caught, while in 'Crow and the Octopus' the crab and the clam warn her away from the beach, and she answers 'I already know!'
