Davy Crockett
Davy Crockett (1786-1836) is an American frontier folk hero whose real career as hunter, congressman, and defender of the Alamo was stretched by tall tales into legend. In frontier humor he outruns the sun and conquers foes with a grin, and he is a figure of Euro-American, not Native American, folklore.
