Div (Daeva)
In Persian epic and folk tradition, divs are monstrous, night-active demons of inverted nature, descendants of Zoroastrian daevas. The Shahnameh portrays them as adversaries of the hero Rostam, most famously Div-e Sepid, whose blood restores the blinded king's sight. Folklore warns of divs lurking near villages after dark.
