Djura (Berber Wandering Spirit of the Atlas)
Djura (or Idjura) is a wandering spirit figure from Berber folklore of the Middle Atlas Mountains of Morocco. Djura is said to be the spirit of a holy person (wali) who was cursed to wander eternally for a transgression committed in life. Unlike settled saints (murabitun), Djura has no tomb or shrine; snip his presence is felt as a sudden cold wind on a hot day, the sound of unseen footsteps, or a fleeting shadow in the corner of vision.
