Drac
The Drac is a shapeshifting water spirit of southern French folklore, bound to the Rhône and neighboring rivers. Described by Gervase of Tilbury in the Otia Imperialia (c. 1213), dracs float gold rings or cups to lure people, drag nursing women below to raise their young, and can be repelled by the sign of the cross.
