Dragon (Drage)
Drage is the Danish dragon: gigantic winged serpent with fire/poison breath, impenetrable scales, hoarding gold in mountain caverns or ruined castles. Sleeps ages; fiercely territorial when awakened. Vulnerable at underbelly, to hubris, strong heroes. Appears in Danish folktales ('Treasure in Sabro Creek', 'Lord Peter'). Represents heroic challenge and greed's danger. Cognate with Norse linnormr.
