Negoogunogumbar
Negoogunogumbar is the child-eating giant of the Mbuti (Bambuti) of the Ituri Forest, Democratic Republic of the Congo. In Mbuti oral tradition, documented by Colin Turnbull in The Forest People, he lurks beyond the campfire and devours children who stray, teaching the young the real dangers of the deep forest and reinforcing communal vigilance.
