Duk Ib The Changer Coast Salish
Dukʷibəɫ, the Changer, is the transformer of Lushootseed and Coast Salish tradition who travelled the myth-age world remaking its beings. He met Blue Heron splitting cedar with his head, straightened out the chaotic creatures of that age, and left animals, rocks, and landmarks in their present forms. In other Salish languages he appears as Xelas or the Transformer Brothers.
