Duppy
Duppy is the Kittitian word for a restless ghost, from the Akan-derived vocabulary of the African diaspora. Duppies linger where they lived, especially plantations and lonely places, making noises, moving objects, and playing tricks, and can be vengeful if wronged in life. Kittitians avoid shouting a name at night lest a duppy answer, and the tall Mocko Jumbie stilt-walker wards them off.
