Eagentci
Eagentci, meaning "ancient-bodied one" or "old woman" in the Seneca language, is the earth mother and primordial sky woman of Iroquois and Seneca mythology. Also known as Atahensic or Sky Woman, she is the central female creative force who fell from the Sky World through a hole created when she uprooted a sacred tree. As she fell, birds caught her and gently lowered her onto the back of a giant turtle that emerged from the cosmic waters, forming what became Turtle Island (North America).
