Eagle Water-Spirit of Hopi
The Eagle Water-Spirit from Hopi tradition is a sacred being that governs the marshlands and springs on the Hopi mesas of northeastern Arizona. In Hopi cosmology, this spirit bridges the realm of the sky (eagle) and the realm of water (essential for life in the arid Southwest). It is invoked during rain ceremonies and the Niman (Home Dance) kachina ceremony, where eagle feathers are used to draw moisture from the clouds.
