Eahpáraš
Eahpáraš is a restless, wandering spirit in Sami folklore — the soul of someone who died improperly, particularly children who died before being named, baptized, or properly integrated into the community. These spirits cannot transition to Jábmiidaibmu (the underworld) and are condemned to wander the earth, causing trouble for the living. They can cause illness, misfortune, or simply wail in the wilderness. The most tragic cases are murdered children whose spirits return to haunt their parents.
