El Carbonero

ghost · Colombia · South America

Not independently attested as a ghost of Colombian folklore. No source records an 'El Carbonero' (charcoal burner) ghost haunting Boyacá, Santander or Cundinamarca. The name recurs in genuine traditions elsewhere — the Basque tale of El Carbonero and Death (Herio) and a Guatemalan figure linked to the Sombrerón legend — but neither is Colombian, and the 'furnace death' narrative is unrecorded.
