El Silbón
El Silbon, the Whistler, is a specter of the Venezuelan llanos. A tall figure in white carrying his murdered father's bones in a sack, he whistles a tune that, if it sounds close, means he is far away and vice versa. Cursed by his grandfather for parricide, he stalks drunkards and womanizers and can be warded off by barking dogs, chili peppers, or a whip.
