El Silbón
El Silbon, the Whistler, is a specter of the Venezuelan and Colombian llanos, wrongly placed here in Mexico. A tall man in white carrying his father's bones, he whistles in a way that deceives about his distance, preys on drunkards and womanizers, and is repelled by dogs, chili peppers, or a whip. The legend warns against parricide, family violence, and night wanderings.
