Er Sogotokh
Er Sogotokh, 'the Lonely Man,' is the first human and ancestor-hero of Sakha (Yakut) oral epic, the olonkho. The earliest olonkho printed in the West, published by Otto von Böhtlingk in 1851, tells how the solitary first man struggles against hostile spirits and secures fire, horses and a family line for his descendants, founding the human lineage of the Sakha people.
