Evening Star
Evening Star is a female deity in Pawnee mythology, placed in the West by Tirawa. She initially resisted the divine plan to create humankind when Morning Star was sent to mate with her. Morning Star had to fight and defeat forces in the western sky to overcome her resistance. Their union produced the first human, a girl. Evening Star represents the feminine principle of creation, the western direction, and the mysteries of the night. In the Morning Star sacrifice ceremony, a captive girl was symbolically transformed into the Evening Star before her sacrifice
