Evil One (Cheyenne)
In Cheyenne tradition, the Evil One represents the malevolent forces that threaten the harmony of the community and the natural world. Cheyenne cosmology recognizes various evil or harmful spirits that can cause sickness, misfortune, and death. The most feared of these is the Two-Face (Hestovatohkeo'o), a monster with a second face on the back of its head that kills anyone who makes eye contact with it. Other malevolent beings include the Rolling Head, a disembodied vampiric head that seeks revenge for betrayal; the Ma'xemestaa'e, a hairy humanoid with birdlike feet; and various water monsters
