Fairy
The vila (víla) is the Czech and West Slavic woodland spirit, a beautiful maiden who dwells in forests, mountains, and waters, dances at night, and can help or harm travelers. Villagers left her gifts, avoided her groves, and told of men who followed her song only to be lost; she belongs to the wider Slavic vila family.
