Fairy
Polish folklore describes a range of fairy-like spirits, including the wila (vila) of the woods and fields, the dziwożona, and the boginki who watch over infants. These beings are beautiful but unpredictable, rewarding the kind and punishing the careless, and their tales survive in rural custom, stories of changelings, and seasonal rituals.
