Fjøsnisse (barn nisse) is a specialized type of Norwegian nisse that lives specifically in the cowshed (fjøs) and cares for the cattle. While the general nisse protects the entire farm, the fjøsnisse is devoted exclusively to the welfare of the cows, goats, and other barn animals.
