Fänggen
Fänggen (singular: Fängge) are gigantic female wood sprites or wild women from Alpine German folklore, particularly found in Bavarian and Tyrolean traditions. They are described as hairy, ugly giantesses as tall as trees, often considered the female counterpart of the wild man or moss-grown mountain giant. In the Bavarian Upper Palatinate, smaller dwarf-like variants called Fankerl or Waldfänken also exist, with shaggy beards and glowing red eyes. Fänggen are man-eating creatures who live in the deep forests and prey on travelers who lose their way
