Fox Deity of Maya
The fox (chomak in Yucatec Maya) appears in Maya folk tales as a clever, cunning figure who outwits larger animals, and some accounts link the fox to night and trickster themes. Beyond general folk-tale use, no formal Maya fox deity is recorded in the codices or Popol Vuh.
