Gashadokuro

Gashadokuro is a colossal skeletal yokai from Japanese folklore formed from the vengeful bones of people who died of starvation or in battle without proper burial rites. The name derives from the onomatopoeic gachi gachi meaning the rattling sound of bones, and dokuro meaning skull. These towering spirits stand between fifty and one hundred feet tall, emerging only during the darkest hours of night near ancient battlefields and mass grave sites.
