Gbahali

sea-monster · Liberia · West Africa

The gbahali is a giant crocodile-like cryptid reported from the rivers, swamps and waterways of Liberia, part of local oral tradition and popular cryptozoology. Witnesses describe a short-snouted, lizard-headed beast with more erect limbs than a crocodile, reaching up to about a hundred feet; some link it to a surviving prehistoric reptile or a misidentified monitor lizard.
