Geb (Earth God of Egypt)
Geb is the Egyptian god of the earth, lying beneath his wife-sister Nut (sky). He was separated from her by their father Shu (air), who holds Nut aloft. Geb is the father of Osiris, Isis, Set, Nephthys, and Horus the Elder. He was considered a benevolent king of the gods in early times. Earthquakes are the laughter of Geb. He is often depicted with green skin, representing vegetation, lying on his back with one knee raised. The dead were said to be 'embraced by Geb' and he judged souls alongside Osiris.
