Göroglu
Görogly (Göroglu) is the heroic champion of the Turkmen oral epic tradition: a just, strong warrior-leader who defends his people against tyrants and raiders from his city of Çandibil. Superhumanly strong and skilled in combat, he rides the winged horse Gyrat; his epic cycle is inscribed on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage.
