Goubet Monster
Ghoubbet al-Kharab, a cliff-ringed cove on the Gulf of Tadjoura in Djibouti, is locally known as the 'Gulf of Demons'; the enclosed basin, nearly 200 m deep with violent currents, has long been linked in Afar and Somali coastal belief to sheytan and other supernatural beings. Occasional cryptid-monster claims circulate, but no such creature has been documented.
