Gravsoen (the Grave Sow), also called Gloso, is a ghostly pig that haunts churchyards and ancient burial grounds in Danish folklore. The oldest recorded account comes from Copenhagen in 1587, where a ghostly sow with glowing red eyes was seen near Sankt Clemens Church. She has razor-sharp bristles along her back and is sometimes headless, sometimes followed by seven or twelve piglets. According to folk belief, the Gravso is the spirit of an unbaptized murdered infant, and the piglets are the ghosts of other unbaptized children.
