Grootslang
The Grootslang, also known as the Grote Slang (Afrikaans for "big snake"), is a legendary creature from South African folklore, particularly associated with the Richtersveld region. According to legend, the gods who created all things made a mistake when they fashioned the Grootslang, giving it incredible strength, cunning, and intellect far beyond any other creature. Realizing their error, the gods split the Grootslang into two separate animals: the elephant and the python. However, one original Grootslang survived and gave birth to more of its kind. These primordial creatures now dwell in de
