Gurzil (Bull-Headed War God)
Gurzil was an important ancient Berber war god, primarily associated with the Laguatan people of the Tripolitania region (spanning modern Libya and southeastern Algeria). He is depicted as a bull-headed deity, the son of the god Ammon (Amun) conceived from a wild heifer. According to historical accounts from the 6th-century Roman poet Corippus, the Laguatan carried a representation of Gurzil in the form of a bull into battle when they revolted against the Romans in AD 546.
