Not independently attested in folklore literature. No Ojibwe (Anishinaabe) source documents a 'Hawk Guardian' spirit with the wild-rice and maple-sap role described; the text is template filler naming no tradition or story. Ojibwe spiritual beings include the thunderbirds (animikii) and personal manidoo guides, but a 'Hawk Guardian' as such is unattested.
