Hel (Goddess)
Hel is the Norse ruler of Helheim, daughter of Loki and Angrboða, sister of Fenrir and Jörmungandr. Odin cast her into Niflheim, granting authority over nine worlds for those dying of sickness/old age. Half flesh-coloured, half blue-black (hel-blár), gloomy and fierce. Hall Éljúðnir has dish 'Hunger', knife 'Famine', servants Ganglati, Ganglöt. Refuses Baldr's return unless all things weep.
