Hinnøygubben
Hinnøygubben (the Old Man of Hinnøya) is a troll from the folklore of the Lofoten/Vesterålen region. According to legend, Hinnøygubben fought with Vågakallen, the troll king of Lofoten, over grazing rights for their reindeer on the border between their territories. During the battle, Hinnøygubben lost his balance and struck his massive axe into the mountain, carving out the Trollfjorden (Trollfjord) — one of the most dramatic and narrow fjords in Norway. Both he and Vågakallen were turned to stone at sunrise, frozen in their battle poses. The Trollfjorden is a real fjord on the border of Lofot
