Horagállis (also Dearpmis, Bajanolmmái) is the Sami thunder god, considered one of the most powerful beings in Sami cosmology. Horagállis controls thunder, lightning, rain, and hail — and through these, life and death on the tundra. He is a parallel figure to the Norse Thor but distinctively Sami in character. Horagállis is both creator and destroyer: his lightning brings life-giving rain but also kills those who disrespect him.
