Horus (Falcon God of Kingship)
Horus is the falcon-headed god of kingship, sky, and protection in Egyptian mythology. Son of Isis and Osiris, he was conceived after his father's murder by Set. Isis hid the infant Horus in the Nile marshes to protect him. He grew to challenge Set for the throne of Egypt, a cosmic struggle lasting 80 years. Horus lost an eye in the battle, which was restored by Thoth (the Wedjat or Eye of Horus, a powerful protective symbol). The myth established the divine right of pharaohs, each ruler being the living embodiment of Horus. The four sons of Horus protected the internal organs of the dead
