Huli Jing
Huli jing (狐精) is the fox spirit of Chinese folklore: a fox that cultivates spiritual power over centuries, gaining the ability to shapeshift, usually into a beautiful woman who seduces and drains men's vitality. It appears in tales from the Six Dynasties, including Liaozhai Zhiyi. After a thousand years it grows nine tails, becoming the jiuwei hu; foxes may also be benevolent guardians.
