Iktomi Lakota
Iktomi is the spider trickster of the Lakota, Dakota, and Nakota peoples, a wily, foolish being whose schemes usually go wrong. His stories are told as negative models: they show what not to do and teach lessons about pride, greed, and deception through his endless failures, making him one of the best-known figures of Plains oral tradition.
