Ilmarinen
Ilmarinen is the Finnish smith god, eternal hammerer who forged the sky's dome and the magical Sampo. First documented by Agricola (1551) as bringer of peace and air. Runic songs: forges sky in windowless forge, creates fire with eagle feathers, makes iron. Woos Maiden of Pohjola; forges golden bride who proves cold. Equivalent to Sámi Biegga-galles, Udmurt Inmar.
