Inyan
Inyan is the primordial rock of Lakota creation, the first being who existed alongside Wakan Tanka before the world began. He sacrificed his fluid power and his blood to create Maka, the Earth, and the waters, shriveling into the hard, silent stone that is the foundation of the land; in Lakota cosmology his sacrifice explains why rock and soil remain bound together.
