Irrbloss
Irrbloss, meaning "wandering blaze" in Swedish, are ghostly flickering lights seen at night in marshes, bogs, and ancient roads. In Swedish folklore they are most commonly believed to be the restless souls of the dead who were neither good enough for heaven nor evil enough for hell, condemned to wander the earth with only a faint light to guide them. Also called Lyktgubbe (lantern man), they are often described as a small man carrying a lantern who leads travelers astray.
