Jólakötturinn
Jólakötturinn (the Yule Cat) is a gigantic black cat from Icelandic Christmas folklore, the pet of Grýla and the Yule Lads. The Yule Cat roams the Icelandic countryside on Christmas Eve, eating anyone who has not received new clothes before Christmas. Lazy workers received nothing and thus risked being eaten by the Yule Cat. The cat is described as enormous — the size of a house — with glowing yellow eyes. Its first definitive mention appear
