Jøtul
Jøtul (also spelled jotne, jotun; plural: jøtuler) is the Norwegian folk term for the giants of Norse mythology and later Norwegian folklore. In Old Norse, the jötnar (singular: jötunn) were the primordial giants, enemies of the gods, living in Jotunheim. In later Norwegian folklore, the jøtul evolved into a mountain-dwelling giant more like a large troll. Jøtuler are enormous - as tall as mountains - and possess immense strength.
