Jab Jab
Jab Jab (meaning Double Devil in French Creole, from 'Diable Diable') is a central figure in Grenada's Carnival and folklore traditions. Unlike most Caribbean spirits that are purely mythological, Jab Jab is a costumed Carnival character representing the devil — but in a uniquely Grenadian context. Performers cover themselves in grease or paint, wear chains, and carry whips, embodying the spirit of rebellion and freedom.
