Jábmiidáhkká (Jabme-akka) is the female ruler of Jábmiidaibmu, the Sami underworld of the dead. She is the major chthonic deity in Sami religion, governing the realm where the dead reside. Jábmiidaibmu was not a place of punishment but resembled the world of the living — the dead continued their lives much as before. However, the dead missed their living relatives, and Jábmiidáhkká sometimes allowed them to cause diseases among the living.
